That was an amazing interview Dan , thoroughly enjoyed listening & watching Ayaan....she was very humble & spoke so much sence on so many levals with you. We are the last generation of a dying breed...keeping all we hold close in our hearts & UK . I indulge in old school ' Alo Alo ' & Alf Garnett , wow we had such a sense of British humor & thick skin back then. Proud to have lived ,& grew up contained in the values back then ....anyway great read ..

I think all these things are a threat and especially collectively.

Only this week I have had to help my 15yr old grandson unravel hurt and he felt at school. He came to the defense of a classmate in class who had just been called "A White Bastard"by a black female classmate. My grandson spoke up and said to the girl that's a racist thing to say. For this my grandson and friend were sent out of class and told to reflect on this. The little "madam" was allowed to remain in class with no reprimand for her vile rhetoric. This is a middle class catchement school. I'm afraid having talked many times with my teenage grandsons on similar issues trans stuff etc. In my opinion woke ideology is worse in the above mentioned school to that of my other grandson who is in a very working class school.

My grandson is now ok but not sure if his mum and dad have climbed down off the ceiling yet and I don't blame them if they haven't. Because I'm bloody fuming

I have retired from the NHS 2022 apart from the patients I was the only white person, they talk in their own language on their phones all the time.

This is the way the government is bringing in foreigners legal they are not cheap labour they earn the same.

Not one British student nurse got a job after their finals this year, but they have international offices in the hospitals employing daily and all their families in the NHS.

This is getting a worry about schools, I have young grandchildren.

Sadly this was happening even when I retired away from NHS to private sector in 2006 then age 50. Many of my peers also left at the same time we'd had enough of the system and culture within it. The writing on the wall in the NHS has been there for decades and our generation's voice within the NHS was silenced long ago.

I remember it started in the 90s the turning down of home grown Nurses. They, at end of interview, would be told, ‘Unfortunately you don’t have experience.’ The girls I knew started to say by the 4th or 5th interview, - all of the 5 city hospitals had vacancies,- if no one will give us jobs how are we supposed to get experience? And then it seen so many from Philippines, India, S Africa, later Africa generally. …… They would come in batches, brought here by Nursing Home chains. Would do their upgrading and exam to qualify for RCN, licensing. After a while would leave the NH chain and start in NHS, or work in NH and do agency for General Nursing. As someone has said, qualified they cost us same as locals. The savings the Govt wanted back then and now is saving on the training, tutors; then Project 2000 coming up, then began, it took training from the wards to the Uni lecture hall and trained staff needed, and cost of, to staff wards, replacing the student nurses as had been. …. All the foreign Nurses allowed for pay remaining low as tradition in U.K.. But ! those days have now gone, as we see this last 12 months, likely that the incomer nurse does not have the same mentality as the Brit on nursing but rather a job that upgrades them in homeland and increase in wages at home and U.K.

I remember the year Tony Blair got in we all ask the student nurses in their finale year were they all got jobs, and none of them got jobs they went to Australia, NZ, nursing homes and rest homes, the year after the flood gates opened.

History is repeating it self with WEF Keir

We have foreign students nurse mostly from Nigeria and Pakistan who all got jobs this year one girl, a patient asked for the commode she sat her on the floor, no idea how she passed and got a job.

I now do the odd bank shift as a lower band no one knows how to use the 24hr clock and last night had a message to explain to nursing staff 15.00hrs is 3pm.

You could not make this stuff up.

But the media keeps saying British do not want these jobs.

Extreme Woke, as it opens the gates for Extreme Islam and Extreme Communism. As a threat Islam and Communism are both equally brutal and destructive. ISIS or Pol Pot? Communist purges or Iranian style government? Interestingly both don't support freedom of speech, and will kill academics and opposition.

The hilarity - in a serious gallows humor sort of way - is that the entire set of ideals and morals by which the real men of Western Civilization have long asserted the universal human values which lift everyone up are non-racial, which is the point.

Ayaan is identifying those men as "white" but in my experience, their melanin content or historical genealogical background are not what differentiates us, but a shared value system and commitment to the honorable actions which each individual should and can take to make a better world.

So far as I have been able to discern from all this "woke" nonsense is it is a never-ending temper tantrum by children hurling their toys around the nursery at Daddy's suppose "oppression" and "unfairness." There is no guiding positive philosophy of constructive action one could call "Wokeism." The very label tells you that it exists in reaction to something else. Basically, any whiny complaint about how "unfair" something is fits neatly into their whiny spoiled brat floor-kicking crybaby view of the world.

Boring and utterly ignorable.

Interesting post. Good points.

I have no time for all this Woke nonsense, idiots identifying as cats or horses, claiming to be one sex one day and another the next. Insisting on ridiculous pronouns etc etc. I refuse to play their twisted games. If we ALL ignored the diktats spewed out by the mentally challenged, that would kill Woke dead. I'm MUCH more worried about the Islamic threat to our country and the fact that it's being aided and abetted by our own governments.

Woke is fundamentally evil, it's takes virtues, the things that we know to be good and true and turns them upside down. It's a modern form of class warfare, it's the working class white man that they despise, it's more dangerous I believe than Islamism and that is bad enough.

I love reading your excellent articles, Dan. They are always amongst the most compelling essays on Substack.

3 thoughts on your latest piece about Ayaan Hirsi Ali:

1. Differentiating people based on race is a mug’s game. It’s something that woke fools indulge in. It doesn’t matter whether it’s black, brown, white or yellow man, it’s WESTERN man (or woman) who needs to oppose the warped ‘progressive’ cult.

2. Putin is only our enemy because we made him one. This was a foolish move on our behalf, which has proved to be detrimental to both parties.

3. I believe it’s always important to search for the silver lining on every cloud. If traditional Western values were ever to be replaced by radical Islam, what do you think would happen to all the wokes? :)

I noticed that 25% said extreme woke. I’m not surprised but the problem with woke is they will make excuses for extreme Islamic views and too me that’s more of a threat

And how do they do that when they are being persecuted for fighting back in every thing they try

Last in line for a education or a job no free speech called a racist at every turn and worst cases thrown in jail

Nonsense from beginning to end. It's not immigration that is hurting the working class, it's neo-capitalism, and it's the neo-capitalists like Musk who are trying to convince the working class that their enemy is the immigrant, rather than the capitalist trying to keep down wages, keep taxes low, keep power out of the hands of the working class, and trying to divert their attention from their real enemy, the capitalists. Ali and Wootton are now tools of the neo-capitalists, and they need to be woke themselves to this.
