Regarding the verdict in his trial means that if Lucy Connolly hadn’t had bad advice from her solicitor to plead guilty, a jury would have acquitted her.

We all knew that from the start.

After she’s released I hope she takes legal advice with a view to suing her solicitor.

I concur. The lazy solicitor is clearly culpable in Lucy’s incarceration.

A jury it was but a decision can hang on what the judge instructed the jury at end of trial and just before they adjourn to go to the jury room to discuss and vote.

There is no jury if the defendant pleads guilty.

That’s how she was stitched up by being persuaded to plead guilty, usually with the story that they’ll receive a lower custodial or suspended sentence that they would otherwise have got if they pled not guilty but been convicted.

In reality she got a harsher, heavier sentence than anyone would have expected, even if she had gone through the expences of a trial by jury.

She was used by Starmer as a sacrificial lamb and made an example of, as a warning to others not to voice their opinions.

The right to free speech is now gone in this once great but now dictatorial country.

What we are all forgetting is that it was a jury who declared Jo es not guilty! For that verdict, based on the evidence, then the jury has the responsibility. Provably all selected for their far left views. Didn’t know illegal immigrants could serve on a jury 😜

Where did the jury come.from. was it Birmingham? For the jury should be from.outside the area where the councilor is knowing. Now we will see others using the slash throat image. This gives green light it is 'ok' to do this.

Where did the jury come from? Handpicked no doubt from Rochdale, Bradford, Islington, Hackney and any other far left and Muslim populated area. Simple🙄

This is absolutely correct- all those whom pleaded guilty were left to face the judges.

He had a trial - the jury acquitted. A Snaresbrook jury.

Any one of us could be Lucy Connolly. Once you start incarcerating people for unpleasant tweets against one group and not another it says everything

Join the Free speech union and never plead guilty. Hopefully when you go to trail the jury will decide in your favour. Just wondering if there was a big release of prisoners early? Probably not -no room, unlike the cases like Lucy who was probably told to plead guilty to lessen the sentence then a judge gave an upper limit sentence. All of this proves we are in a two tier justice and two tier police state.

The judge actually gave Lucy a lower end sentence. The problem was she was charged with inciting racial hatred which was an extreme offence and hard to prove. She should have been advised to plead not guilty and possibly guilty to a lesser charge.

This matter infuriates me more than any other, despite the fact that we all knew what was going to happen. I am both sickened and embarrassed by the inevitable outcome and pray that Lucy Connelly sues the a***s off the so-called Government for this. #votereform.uk

Lucy Connolly was badly advised by the duty solicitor possibly acting under orders from the PM and Attorney General? Jones got excellent advice and his case was heard in a “diverse” part of the country possibly sympathetic to a person of colour. We aren’t two tier. We are two parallel countries of indigenous white and immigrant. At least we now know where we stand.

I am shocked at the decision but, having served twice on a jury, I can readily imagine the jury being led by opinionated members and the others being intimidated into agreeing. It would take real guts to stand up to leftist bullies playing the racial abuse victim card.

It is a common error to believe that free speech absolutism covers everything that is said. It does not. Direct calls to violence are specifically excluded. This confusion arises because we use the phrase 'free speech' as a shortened version of 'free expression of ideas' and think any words (i.e speech) qualify whereas it is ideas that are protected. This is why violence, abuse and the infamous falsely shouting "Fire" fail the test. An examination of Lucy Connelly's remarks show they were a opinion and should be protected; Ricky Jones calls to violence are not. Regret, afterthought and even apology are not a defence though they may be mitigating if genuine.

Same!!!! It was obvious just the way he wasn’t remanded like Lucy who was clearly no threat to anyone!!! But if you’re white & say anything against brown people or a certain religion then you’re in trouble!!! This won’t change now! The uk as we knew it is over! At least for white people who don’t kiss the arse of the woke madness!

If he was so mentally fragile, how come he holds a position of political responsibility?

Here’s a few ideas. Rid the country of any unelected technocratic quangos. Forbid anyone standing for election or holding public office, from having any non secular policies.

Police without fear or favour.

That shouldn’t be controversial.
