Reform needs more Tory MPs to defect. They have nothing to lose if things don't change. If only Braverman would lead the charge it would make such a difference.

That would be epic but she won't do it. She believes she can lead and change the Tories.

Why?

The mainstream media have proved time and time again that they cannot be trusted. They do not care for the truth, all they care about is ruining people's lives by hounding and bullying, and they gaslight the general public into believing any old rubbish, so long as it sells papers or gets them clicks.

CORRECT. They are evil.

We're seeing that first hand with the Daily Markle bashing Catherine on an almost daily basis. four days ago it ran a piece "Guards at Prince Harry's Africa conservation charity face new killing and torture allegations" which was so buried people couldn't locate it (found on another site which called it out for burying). And the piece received 1 comments? Comical.

You're right, they bombard the newspapers with non-stories and conspiracy theories about William and Catherine, at the same time, the couple who really need investigating are getting away with all kinds of things, including the Africa Parks allegations. The mainstream media seem totally unaware of their paid trolls, called the sussex squad, who have harassed anyone on YouTube and X who had the audacity to ask questions about the invisikids. Some were demonetised, others de-platformed. Dan says he is onto them, and I hope he is getting the information he needs. I will, once again, mention the 67 year old pensioner who has been hounded offline entirely, her YouTube name was Yankee Wally. Dan, she would be a good one to talk to.

I believe, although it is a hard choice for Nigel, he should put country first. However, we also need Trump to be President again, & is this more important at the moment, possibly. To have Nigel here as PM & Donald as President is what the world needs.

I have never felt so despondent and so thoroughly ashamed of the United Kingdom (poor choice of name now, as we have never been less united)

This is the time for everyone who’s sick of seeing our country being destroyed, to wake up and vote for a radical change.

Our culture is being taken over, we are told lie after lie about stopping mass migration. Our schools, health systems, not to mention our roads are a complete mess and our children are being told they can change gender if they wish.

The justice system is broken beyond repair. If a criminal even makes it into prison, they are released early because of lack of space.

Reform are the only party who aren’t in denial about all the aforementioned AND have the passion to try to make Great Britain, great again.

Exactly. It's a very hard choice for him to make isn't it, given his relationship with Trump.

There is a seismic shift in politics in this country which Westminster & the MSM haven’t grasped. Pre Covid the majority didn’t take much interest in politics but lockdowns changed that & it was plain to see how inadequate our politicians were that they would inflict some of the inhuman acts that they did on the public aided by MSM. The genie is out of the bottle & will not go back as we’ve realised what god awful abuses they can inflict on people. Radical reform of the political system has to ensue so the public have protection from the state & scrap Ofcom which censored debate to ensure there was only one narrative. I believe the only way you protect the public is through direct democracy so the public has the power to stop policies & government overreach. Reform is surging because people will not accept the status quo of business as usual. Strap yourself in because it’s going to be a rocky ride.

So agree!

“the only way you protect the public is through direct democracy so the public has the power to stop policies & government overreach”. What does that mean in practice?

I suggest it means only two layers of empowered and elected government - one U.K.-wide national government and maybe 50 “mayoral” local governments with no separate Northern Ireland or Scottish or Welsh governments and only one layer of court appeal with single appeal - be that the House of Lords or a single judicial review process. So you get to a model where, in theory, government is accountable and speedy. And to get these governments you need a PR methodology which means that the current Westminster government needs to have a PR referendum.

Furthermore, in my view, to deliver your “direct democracy” you meet to have regular referenda so that voters can decide on specific policy issues. So let all of us in this “comments” section try to write some model wording on what is probably the most contentious issue in the U.K. at the moment, legal immigration. So my wording might be “Legal immigration should be gross X people (plus or minus 5%) over the next Y years”. Who decides X and Y and what controls the “for” campaign and the “against” campaign and the allowable spending and the media?

So converting your theoretical idea to a practical realisation would take years, would reveal irreconcilable differences, and would lead to continual demands for changes.

Great idea in theory but …

Any change of voting system is not 100% but all you’ve given is negative comments. Are you of the opinion that we don’t have the capacity in the U.K. to develop a hybrid system which shares the balance of power? We had representative democracy since the 17th century & its not fit for purpose anymore because it’s anti democratic. Switzerland has direct democracy & is the happiest country on the planet. Our country is the 2nd worse place to live, society totally divided & on the verge of bankruptcy. Our constitution is based on trust which has been broken & threatens our democracy if people don’t vote because we have the Uniparty. The wording of referenda is semantics because you first have to design the system which gives true “ demos “ which we don’t have.

Expand full comment

I start by getting rid of councils & mayors & take it back to people making decisions about their local areas agreeing priorities & budget. I would scrap devolution Parliament because we would have a U.K. administration in office with a legally binding manifesto. I would scrap House of Lords, legislation would be scrutinised by a plethora of independent lawyers, nominated by the public. You would still have elections of parties who would become an administrative government. MP’s would be selected by the local people who would be not to be representative but to advocate for people in their local area. That’s for starters.

Expand full comment

I agree with your 3rd, 5th and 6th sentences so you might like to suggest some practical elements as to how the UK will achieve your direct democracy. If you read my paragraphs 2 and 3 you will see that these are not negative. Only paragraph 4 is negative though I would say it is probably regrettably realistic.

Quite frankly the voting establishment is beyond broken right now and has been for a substantial time. “Oh I’m going to vote Conservative or Labour just like my parents have done for years”. Completely wrong on all levels. We are now presented with a fantastic alternative, a genuine alternative in the party Reform. Unfortunately I fear the majority will be afraid to vote for the Reform party giving Labour a win. Saying that the Conservatives could be handing out gold bars to secure a vote and even then no one will vote for them. I was a conservative voter and there is a no chance I am voting for fishi Rishi.

The old saying of being political homeless was true for a while. Again geographical I have no reform candidates near me or I darn well would give them my vote. Lee Anderson ticks every box for me along with Farage, Tice and Habib! I could listen to them all day.

Everything needs changed particularly the way votes are counted, dear god don’t get me started on that retirement home collectively called the “lords”…..bunch of woke lefty eco nut jobs that are a danger to the country and do not speak for me! I never elected them.

The country is falling to bits & a complete embarrassment to the rest of the world.

We have lost our once great backbone.

Look what the Brexit Party did in the EU elections. A different and fairer voting system without postal ballots unless in exceptional circumstances would redress the balance. In parallel we have GB News as the only channel giving a voice to Reform UK and your good self Dan saying it like it is. Let’s get the coverage up so Reform get a fair chance.

Yes! We vote the “popular” party into office with their published manifestos only for that party to flip flop and change or bend their ideas to suit their needs negating our initial approval when we voted them in. We need a greater say/voice to hold them accountable immediately and not just after 4 years during a general election. Stop the boats springs to mind.

Yes, what happened to Canada? I used to think of Canadians as down to Earth, dependable people who could survive in temperatures of 30 degrees below freezing point, wrestle grizzly bears and fell pine trees. Those lumberjacks were OK. Until lately some of them apparently took to wearing high heels, suspenders and a bra, and wanting to be a girlie, just like their dear papa.

Dan's best article so far.

Re Ofcom, I've already said that Ofcom appears to be picking off GBN's best presenters, including Mark Steyn and Dan Wootton.

As Ofcom focuses on Nigel Farage, Nigel's options are teasing ones. I think it's Ofcom that needs regulating, because Mark, Dan and Nigel are champions of our time.

It annoys me how 'evil' forces in this world today, try to bring down those who truly speak and act for us, who promote common sense and moral values.

Something's been off in the world. It was as if several dice were rolled and many 666's came up, except in the UK and America while, for a short time, Donald Trump and Boris were the exceptions in what felt like a line-up of world leaders, that forced an agenda when the time was right. When the world was weakened by the pandemic, when big pharma had a grip on Governments, when people were locked down, muzzled and couldn't buy clothes (in Wales). When digital ID was seeded in our lives, in Apps, when cash started disappearing and vaccines were pushed or freedoms and jobs were at risk/lost. When locked-down people had too much time on their hands and some became sensitive snowflakes and OTT offended by 'woke' issues that continue to be a rash on society even now causing this 'cancel culture'. Live and let live, just let life go back to normal.

It was during this time when GBN, Dan Wootton, Mark Steyn, Neil Oliver etc, the Together Declaration... appeared and questioned the narrative and everything, when none of the other media outlets would. At last people were waking up to being controlled and silenced. Yes of course, vaccine injuries had to be investigated.

Why should the UK allow itself to be in any way controlled and stifled by the WEF, the WHO, the globalists, big pharma etc? Keir Starmer's answer still grates. When asked, Davos (WEF) or Westminster, he chose the WEF.

How can we accept any politician or potential PM who declares their primary loyalty to foreign institutions and/or dictatorships (the EU), above the UK? Haven't we had enough of that?

Whereas, Reform UK's loyalties are welded to the UK, to its recovery and the issues that matter to us ordinary people. Reform UK is united, its policies are sensible, sound and powerful and there's a genuine respect of position within the party. Why would I not vote for Reform UK, when doing so is the only logical decision for me.

Lee Anderson's defection to Reform UK, makes him a strong torchbearer for UK-loyal Conservative MPs to follow.

After the BBC described Reform UK as 'far right', it had to apologise. Common sense policies are not far-right.

We don't watch the BBC anymore, since it became so blatantly biased on Question Time, with a panel ratio of 4 Remainers to 1 Brexiteer! We said, well, it takes 4 Remainers with weak-to-no arguments, to attempt to break 1 Brexiteer's case for leaving the EU.

I'm new to Substack. For some reason, my first post isn't appearing in my profile but it's in Dan's article re Samantha Markle.

I'm so very pleased Dan found a way to reconnect with loyal viewers and readers and can speak freely at last, on this platform.

I joined Reform many months ago. I don’t have a single regret. They really are speaking my language, unlike any of the other parties. I Now am finding it extremely frightening, and upsetting seeing this country’s rapid decline on so many levels. NHS on its knees and now the announcement today by junior doctors of six months more industrial action, immigration totally out of control, crime rates soaring, more potholes than roads, our army severely depleted, unaffordable housing for youngsters .. sadly the list is endless. Just wish with all my heart that the electoral system was set up so it’s not so very hard for new parties to gain seats in . :(

You've covered all the bases there Dan. There are three main challenges, Reform are still not known by legacy media watchers and while Richard Tice is an excellent debater he doesn't have the X factor for voters that Ben, Lee and Nigel do. Also, voters remember the support for covid jabs by Reform and also by Lee. Reform posters need plastering on billboards and buses across the country to raise their profile.

I'm with Reform all the way and hopefully Donald Trump as next President. Biden hates the UK and has made that pretty obvious. Trump loves the UK, even though he walked in front of the Queen 😅 Like or dislike NF and Trump they'd make a great team for the world. I've given up watching any News Channels or reading any papers. It's simply not worth the effort as I feel we're being herded like cattle to believe whatever they say as gospel! Both NF and Trump have one thing in common, they love their respective countries and that's something I respect even though I'm now classed as Far Right just because I'm patriotic and love my country and I'd give anything to see the slippery one fail and NOT get elected. 😀 The NHS is on its knees. I had a hospital appointment last week and I waited for 6 YEARS for this appointment. The amount of extra deaths there will be within the next few years is going to soar because people just can't get treatment, and I'll probably be one of them.
